The underlying mission of the managed thematical funds is to support and promote a positive, measurable impact globally alongside a significant financial return. The main focus areas are well-defined within each strategy. The firm currently manages several funds with total AUMs > EUR 200M: Sustainable Food, Sustainable Packaging and Sustainable Fashion. The firms operates as a corporate innovation platform with anchor investors of the likes such as Bimbo Corporation, HAVI, SIGMA, HUGO BOSS and others.

The firm has committed to all strategies to follow Art 9 under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

Our investor base includes corporates, institutional and private investors from all around the world. We are supporting fantastic entrepreneurs such as the ones who have started companies like TIPA, Mosa Meat, Geltor, Polybion, Planted, Sykell or Cubiq Foods. We are hiring as per now:

 

VC Internship

We are looking for one or several new members to join us as Interns with the objective to converting into a full-time position after completing a 6 – 9 months internship. The candidates will be responsible for serving as future venture capital professionals supporting the investment team throughout the cycle from sourcing to diligence, deployment of capital and post-funding support with a strong focus of researching, mapping and deep diving in the investable themes defined by the firm as well as general support of the investment teams.

Job Description

The primary objectives include: 

• Support deal flow: Screen, map and identify new and relevant start-ups for investment purposes
• Undertake guided and independent research to identify and stay on top of relevant trends and technologies
• Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify new competitive opportunities and map investment sectors
• Develop investment thesis: Support investment deal process from sourcing to execution, share ongoing investment monitoring of interesting leads
• Support comprehensive due diligence and deal execution: support diligence on targets and provide detailed analyses of the company’s team, market, products, science, technologies, business model, go-to-market plan, competitive position, risk factors and anything else that is relevant for an informed investment decision.
• Support the evaluation and potential of early-stage investments through team and financial due diligence, market research and competitive analysis
• Support portfolio management: Support reporting, business plan modelling, financial planning and other ad hoc business needs
• Support with administration and data capture in all company relevant systems
• Industry network and landscaping: Deepen and expand network through active involvement in relevant industry conferences and events/meetings
• General support to the investment teams

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Ideally relevant work experience, including but not limited to: VC, CVC, PE firm, consulting or Investment banking in our sectors,
• Material science, engineering, business, food & nutrition or bio science background
• Finished higher business and university education and or MBA is required

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Extraordinary technical skills (MS Office, Google Docs, CRMs, project management tools etc) and work methodology
• Extraordinary skills in financial modelling, business plan modelling, financial analysis
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and engage with founders & teams
• Very detailed oriented
• Strong project management capabilities
• High quality standards
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Highly organized, shown to meet tight deadlines along with consistent accuracy and attention to detail
• Self-motivated drive, genuine interest and proven ability to explore and uncover new domains quickly
• Passionate about technology and sustainability & entrepreneurship
• English proficiency is required, other languages are a plus

 

Internship information: 

Starting date: As soon as possible

Place of work: Hybrid with local presence at our HQ in Zürich

Hiring process:

1)  HR interview: 30-minute screening call to discuss your background, assess cultural fit and answer questions about the internship

2)  Principal interview: 30-minute interview with our Principal to discuss your background, technical skills and provide more color around the responsibilities and the team

3 Partner interview: 45 minutes interview with our Founder and Managing Partner to get to know you and potentially do a mini live case-study

4)  Reference checks
