Martin was VP and Global Head of M&A at adidas Group and managing director of adidas Ventures B.V. He spent almost 19 years at adidas, was responsible for 20+ acquisitions and divestitures for the group and founded its first corporate venturing arm, Hydra Ventures in 2012. In his capacity as managing director of the respective adidas CVC (or adidas Corporate Venture Capital) unit, he invested more than €100M in almost 20 start-ups and four additional venture funds. His role included assuming Board, Observer and Advisory seats in more than 10 of the direct investment start-ups.

After his time at adidas, Martin consulted for industry leading consumer/ retail private equity firm Sycamore Partners L.C. on high-calibre growth and carve-out M&A transactions. From 2021 to 2023, Martin worked at HUGO BOSS AG to lead their M&A and Strategic Investments activities. Other noteworthy engagements include his previous strategic advisory role for South Korean private equity firm Centroid Investment Partners as well as his current Supervisory Board role at Sporttotal AG. Martin holds a degree in business administration from the European Business School, Germany.
