Leader in reusable packaging systems and creator of the first ERP system designed for circular businesses

The Idea in Action

Sykell is tackling one of the most pressing issues of modern consumption: the environmental and logistical challenges associated with single-use packaging and waste management. With their innovative solutions, Einfach Mehrweg and Circular ERP, Sykell is paving the way toward sustainable, circular economies.

Each year, approximately 142 million metric tons of plastic waste are generated from packaging, including single-use products, overburdening waste management systems and harming ecosystems Many businesses struggle to implement efficient reusables due to a lack of infrastructure, high operational costs, and complex compliance requirements. Sykell offers a dual-pronged approach to address these challenges:

1. Einfach Mehrweg:
A reusable packaging system that integrates with existing supermarket reverse vending machines, making it easy for consumers to return packaging while requiring no extra hardware investment for businesses. With durable, recyclable materials, this solution helps reduce waste, lower carbon footprints, and encourage widespread adoption of sustainable practices.
2. Circular ERP:
Sykell’s digital backbone, Circular ERP, empowers businesses with the technology needed to efficiently manage reusable systems. This software streamlines processes like tracking, logistics, and compliance, enabling companies to integrate circular economies seamlessly. It reduces the operational burden and ensures transparency in packaging lifecycle management.

The Story So Far

Sykell is a German-based company that provides the infrastructure and operating system to make reusable packaging as easy and convenient as single-use packaging (i.e., no waste, higher quality packaging, impact tracking) with no disruption to the consumer. Powered by CIRCULAR ERP, the first ERP designed for circular businesses, Sykell seamlessly integrates operational processes to optimize reuse systems at scale.

Sykell has a packaging-as-a-service model, taking advantage of the developed deposit infrastructure in Germany. They enable the retail & food industry to shift from disposable to reusable packaging and towards a more circular economy.
