Rethinking textile construction, one thread at a time.

The Idea in Action

Textile-to-textile recycling is often limited not by recycling technologies, but by irreversible textile construction. Seams, stitching, and structural connections prevent clean separation of materials, reducing recovery rates and increasing processing complexity at end of life.

CLIMATEX addresses this challenge at its source.

By engineering dissolvable construction thread, CLIMATEX enables textile products to remain fully functional and durable throughout their lifetime while allowing materials and components to be cleanly separated under controlled industrial conditions when intended.

By enabling reversible construction at the thread level, the fundamental building block of textile assembly, CLIMATEX makes circular textile systems technically and industrially achievable.

The Story So Far

CLIMATEX was founded in Switzerland to address a fundamental limitation in textile circularity: irreversible construction. Following extensive research and technology development, the company has created patented construction thread technologies that integrate into existing industrial textile manufacturing processes.

Today, CLIMATEX operates at Technology Readiness Level 8 and collaborates with international partners including VP Textile, JAB, Interstuhl, and Lantal, across sectors such as workwear, interiors, mobility, technical textiles, and fashion - where construction integrity, durability, and end-of-life recovery are essential. Through its licensing model and compatibility with existing supply chains and manufacturing infrastructure, CLIMATEX enables scalable global adoption.
